This Gene Autry cap gun was made in 1940. It is described in Sam Logan/Charles Best book “Cast Iron Toy Guns and Cap Shooters” on page 63(G5.2.1). This cap gun is 6 1/2 inches in length. It is a multi shot, double action, which means more than one shot can be fired before reloading. It takes a roll of caps. The gun has a cylinder which doesn’t rotate. Pulling the trigger cocks and fires the toy. The words “Gene Autry” are embossed on both sides of the gun and on the right side of the gun the words “MADE IN USA PAT APL’D FOR. The words Gene Autry also appear very lightly on both sides of the red grips.<br>This is a heavy solid gun in very good condition. Please refer to the pictures. This is a toy cap gun.
