h
Item Description
g
This is a vintage, medium-sized
African woven/coiled grass basket/bowl. Online research indicates that it is likely a basked produced by the Hausa Tribe in Nigeria. It was sourced among older items at an estate sale. It was a display item and shows its age due to light exposure that has faded the colors on the top of the bowl. You can see from the photos of the bottom of the basket that the colored dyes are still bright, for example. This fading and the basket's inclusion with other vintage items at the estate sale make me comfortable in listing this item as vintage. These are my best efforts to identify and date this basket but are not 100% guaranteed.
The basket is about 9" in diameter and 2 3/4" deep.
Please see the
RED
text below under Packaging and Shipping.
Please see the photo(s) to judge the condition for yourself, as they are part of the description to which you commit as a buyer.
I source my items from estate sales, yard sales, auctions, second-hand stores, antique markets, etc. Therefore, the information I can provide about items may be limited. I am not a professional appraiser/grader. My opinion of item condition is subjective. Many of my pre-owned and pre-loved items will show signs of wear consistent with their age. I do my best to note any defects, but please grant some grace if there is something I missed. If I missed it, it's probably not very noticeable.
h
Packaging and Shipping
g
I live in a non-smoking, cat friendly household. My items are stored in a room where my cats are not permitted.
I have cleaned this item of any surface dust/grime and will wipe it down one last time before packaging. However, I will not guarantee that stray cat hair does not find its way into the packaging.
Do note that eBay resellers are reporting a significant increase in package/item damage during shipment. I ship my items in boxes that a little oversized to allow for more bubble wrap. This increases the postage a bit but it increases the likelihood that your item(s) will arrive safely.
I will usually mail item(s) within three business days after the purchase date (I check messages in the evening so don’t count the first day). If you are in a rush to receive your order, please let me know immediately upon purchase and I will tell you what is possible, as I do work full-time.
h
Photos
g
The color
of the actual item(s) could be slightly darker or lighter than pictured due to camera and lighting conditions when taking photos. I try to enhance the photos to be as true-to-life as possible or to bring out certain details I feel are important to buyers.
Do note that while my original photo files are high-resolution, some focus and clarity is lost in uploading to eBay. Some faint/fine imperfections may not be visible.
While I try to include all four sides and top/bottom of items, I will sacrifice one/some of these images to include photos of obvious condition issues (like a significant chip) within the 12 photos allowed by eBay.
Any easels, backgrounds or other items used to display the item
(s)
for photographs are not included in the sale of the item
(s)
.
h
Buyer/Seller Responsibilities
g
No warranties or guarantees are implied for the item(s).
Buyer is responsible to pay for the item(s) purchased. If buyer doesn't pay within seven days, an
unpaid item case
will be opened with eBay.
h
Damaged Upon Arrival?
g
If the item(s) arrive in a package that appears damaged …
1.
Take photos of the package damage from various angles BEFORE YOU OPEN IT. These photos are
required
to authenticate the damage for your refund.
2. Once you open the box, take a photo to show the contents before you remove the contents and start to unwrap the bubble wrap.
3. Once you have unwrapped the bubble wrap, photograph the damaged item(s).
4. Send your photos to the seller.
h
Refunds and Returns
g
If there was damage during shipment, the buyer must provide the seller with clear, in-focus, well-lit photos of the package and the item(s) before a refund will be issued.
Seller does not accept returns.
